Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated cut the ribbon on their brand new Regional Sales and Distribution Center in Piedmont, SC Thursday.
“Today, Coca-Cola opens another new chapter in its 114 year history in South Carolina,” says Wes Lambert, area sales manager for Coca-Cola Consolidated.
The new 150,000 square foot, $13 million facility is located on Highway 86 in Piedmont on a 32-acre site that is already primed for expansion in the next year or two.
“Coca-Cola has been apart of our lives your many years,” says Senator Mike Gambrell. “How many remember going to the store, buying a coke and pouring salted peanuts in it?”
The new facility will create 147 new, high paying jobs and handle distribution of 8.5 million cases a year of Coca-Cola products to Anderson, Pickens, Greenville, Oconee, Greenwood, Abbeville, McCormick Counties in South Carolina, in addition to Carnesville, Hartwell, and Lavonia Counties in Georgia.
“It is a bright day in South Carolina,” says Senator Kevin Bryant.
